Frequently Asked Questions

What is Forestry Mulching?

Forestry Mulching is a method of clearing land. Forestry mulching is rapidly becoming more popular due to its low impact process, replacing what previously required multiple machines in a multiple step procedure. Forestry mulching performs land clearing in a single step process, grinding material on-site creating mulch to be left for ground cover. Material is ground down to the stump, creating a usable open area. The remaining root system and stump may be left in place providing for additional protection from erosion, or may be raked up providing for loose soil. Added benefits of forestry mulching are no permits or silt fence required. Applications of forestry mulching: Land Clearing, Site-preparation, Controlling vegetation growth, Right-of-Way maintenance, Creek bank maintenance, Slope maintenance, Retention pond maintenance, and Boundary maintenance for surveying

Why should somebody choose you over your competition?

Dawg Mulching has specialized equipment for land clearing through a process known as forestry mulching. Land clearing through forestry mulching provides benefits over conventional clearing. Forestry mulching compared to conventional clearing provides a lower impact solution by eliminating material at the site, as well as leaving existing root structures to prevent erosion. An added benefit is grinding of the material into mulch, which is distributed at the site providing ground cover. This mulch eventually degrades back in to the soil, providing a more balanced, natural environment.

Are there any projects you consider too small?

Yes, we need enough space for the machines to access and have to charge a minimum for bringing out the machines. Small yard jobs are typically difficult and small for us, something that can be easier for a landscaper with a hand crew. However, we have no set limit to what may be considered “too small.” It’s always best to call us on site so we could review your potential project and make the final determination.
